NOAF Lecture Series: Living with Water

  • Center for Design 1000 Saint Charles Avenue New Orleans, LA, 70130 United States (map)

Please join the New Orleans Architecture Foundation (NOAF) on Monday, April 10th to hear from Global Green USA and Urban Conservancy on DIY solutions for managing storm water at your home or business. NOAF believes dealing with storm water is an important component of architectural design and planning, especially in New Orleans. We have asked these two groups to share lessons learned and other tips on how attendees can make small but effective changes to dealing with water in their daily lives.

Global Green USA will discuss their work helping people reduce waste, live better, and act more sustainably today --- and in the future. Urban Conservancy will talk about the Front Yard Initiative (FYI), their response to excessive yard paving, a community issue that has broad and significant effects on the city of New Orleans from storm water to safety. We hope that attendees will walk away with next steps for making small changes towards a more sustainable, beautiful New Orleans.

This event is part of a larger series of programs for Architecture Week New Orleans, April 10 – 14, 2017.

Please bring your questions to ask during the open forum portion of the lecture.
