Join New Orleans Architecture Foundation for an exclusive tour of The Pontchartrain Hotel at 2031 St Charles Ave in the New Orleans Garden District. Named after Louis XIV court's Count de Pontchartrain, the Pontchartrain Hotel in New Orleans originally opened as a luxury apartment building in 1927. In the 1940s, it was refashioned as a luxury hotel and became a veritable who's who of prominent locals and visitors.
In 2015 the Pontchartrain Hotel began a major renovation, spearheaded by local architecture firm Trapolin-Peer Architects, providing it current 21st Century amenities for business and pleasure while maintaining its clubby comfort-meets-sophisticated elegant carriage and a design scheme that mirrors the city's tropically exotic indigenous color schemes and old school appointments.
Registrants will hear from the architecture design team for this exquisite renovation, as well as get access to the newly renovated event space, rooms and bar. The event is $35 per person and is open to the public. Only 24 spots are available. Registration is required and includes a complimentary cocktail at the hotel bar.
