Please join the New Orleans Architecture Foundation on Tuesday, September 4th, to hear from local architects, Melissa and Brian Rome, about their practice, design process and philosophy, and the unique challenges and opportunities of practicing architecture in New Orleans and elsewhere.
Rome Office is a full service architecture and design firm based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Office is experienced in a variety of architectural scales--from product design, interiors to buildings and urban scale development--and programs, including cultural, multi-family residential, single-family residential, commercial, leisure and retail projects. Rome Office is led by Brian and Melissa Rome, both natives of the southeastern United States. Collectively, they have worked in the field of architecture for over 18 years in Barcelona, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, New York, Charleston, and New Orleans. Their experience on large and small scale projects span 10 countries and 5 continents.
Rome Office believes that creative design is a powerful tool that has the ability to enhance one’s awareness of self, environment, and time. The Office’s work is created through a deep understanding of the surrounding environment, the people and/or objects it serves and the appropriate curation of programmatic and sensory elements in order to forge a specific experience. With every client, Rome Office aims to deliver a project that has a unique presence and personality of its own. The true value of the work resides in the contribution it makes to the lives of the people who use it.
Two of their projects, the The Tree House Memorial and the Higher Power House, received awards at the 2018 AIA New Orleans Design Awards.
The NOAF Monthly Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
