Mid Mod NOLA: Tax Credits and Mid-Century Architecture: Challenges, Tips, and Inspiration

  • The Alder Hotel 4545 Magnolia Street New Orleans, LA, 70115 United States (map)

The resurgence of interest in Mid-Century Modern architecture has led to the redevelopment of a wide variety of these structures. While many are eligible for State and/or Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, understanding how and when a building qualifies requires an in-depth understanding of its history and construction. Talk by Alison Saunders, Tax Incentives Director at the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office, and tour of the Alder Hotel by owner Michael Valentino, Valentino New Orleans Hotels; Bear Cheezum, Project Manager, Development, Woodward Interests, LLC; Greg Ensslen, Go Mango Neighborhood Restoration LLC; and Donna & Jonathan Fricker, of Fricker Historic Preservation Services, LLC. Light hors d’oeuvres provided by The Alder Hotel.

Free to the public. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

This event is part of Mid Mid NOLA, an event series that explores and celebrates New Orleans’ Mid-Century Modern architecture. Mid Mod NOLA is produced in partnership by the Preservation Resource Center, New Orleans Architecture Foundation and DOCOMOMO US/Louisiana.
