New Orleans is a city of incredibly diverse homes, buildings, and people, all playing their role in defining the many character-filled neighborhoods they call home. The New Orleans Architecture Foundation wants to begin celebrating those neighborhoods with you, beginning with Bayou St. John. The Bayou St. John neighborhood offers much of what the city is revered for: a rich history, music throughout the year, great local food, and a wide array of architectural styles.
On Saturday, November 9th, the New Orleans Architecture Foundation invites you to explore this neighborhood with us! The tour features five homes along the Bayou including the newly renovated McDonough 31 school, recently converted into luxury apartments, and access to abbreviated tours of the Pitot House hosted by the Louisiana Landmarks Society for an additional fee. The featured homes would not be the same if not for the storied history of the Bayou and other neighborhood treasures that make this such a special place in New Orleans! Along with the homes on the tour, we encourage guests to stop by some of the neighborhood spots and businesses that help define the character of the area.
